In its purest form, street photography is a subset of documentary photography which in turn is a sub-genre of photojournalism.

I've always loved street documentation more so than most other forms of photography. You get genuine emotions out of the faces you shoot. Nothing is staged and everything is spontaneous. It's raw and it's real.

Street Photography has seen a rise in Dubai. A lot of people have recognized their eye for the beauty in the mundane, photographing the streets of the City Of Life.

An art-form that's steadily taking a life of its own in Dubai, many photographers are preferring to look for their subjects behind and below the usual picturesque skylines and cityscapes that are usually seen in postcards and posters in travel agencies.

A few of my personal favorite street photographers like Jason John Silva Echevarria (@ambivalentshots), Nic Alonzo (@nic.alonzo), Aman Mark (@amanmarkmichael) and a few others have perfected the art of Street Photography. In a city filled with photographers that shoot the usual tourist spots, only some have dared to go against the grain and show what makes the city truly beautiful. The mixture of different cultures, the hustle and the near 8 million faces that go and grind everyday that makes this city what it is, a beautiful boiling pot of people from all walks of life, giving it its heartbeat.
